All the other one star critics are quite right. I paid for the in program bluray authoring upgrade but it doesn’t really work. It does populate the options and they look great, but exporting video produces an image but won’t burn directly without hanging, and in any case there is no audio on the movie file or it’s out of synch with the video and nothing seems to help! It produced a MOV file in HD that seemed to play fine but it won’t burn without dropping the audio or being badly out of synch with the video.
Even tried to use MYDVD that comes with it but it also produces an image with no sound on the main features. Very frustrating and in some cases heartbreaking as I was trying to get out a memorial movie. Giving two stars since it does have good editing and authoring tools but they only marginally work. Worse yet, maybe the patch would help, but you can’t find it as it loops back and forth to their knowledge base page to the patch description but no download link works.
There’s some third party patches reported with links and I tried them all, but they won’t update the product saying its the wrong one. I think they may have had it with this thing, and I’m a hundred bucks out. Update: I upped the rating as this product actually works with 3D and processes it pretty well.
I recommend getting Nero to do the burning. Pinnacle can create an image but it can be best burned with something else though. If I ever get a response from them about how to find the patch and it works then there would be no reason to not love this program entirely.
Update: Raised to five stars as I am now better informed that the program is working and patched at the highest level when I bought it.
After some fiddling, I did get it to burn everything well. It pulls 3d content from the disk or devices and identifies it automatically settng up a movie or disk. Great transitions. The 3d menus are great and it does 3d titles with animation from a large selection of different categories.

I bought it because of the multi-cam feature. I’ve found that multi-camera editing works very well. It’s so easy to use that I didn’t even need to read the guide. It offers a better picture. However, when importing HD MP4 video and doing even the most basic editing, the end result is video that is out of sync with the audio, no matter what output format I try.
This software wouldn’t even recognize the audio. It’s advertised with many features, but it’s like buying a Porsche that is fully decked out but has no engine. Actually, it’s like buying a little red wagon, because this video editor is little more than a toy.

There are plenty of video tutorials on this program as it’s a very popular program but I would suggest if you are just a beginner and looking for some basic video editing this might not be the program for you. If you are looking to make a more advanced video for uploading to the internet or whatever this is a great option. I love the screen capture ability. This is a great program but I would not recommended this for beginning video editors.
If I could go lower I would. I ordered this on digital download and installed it on a brand new alienware 17r3. I am very familiar with this line of software and the software itself is the typical upgrades from earlier versions. This means that there are bells and whistles hung all over a solid product, hiding usefulness somewhere under the bling.
Anyway, when I ran the software it would play audio but the video locked in all the preview screens. Corel tech support finally decided it was a codec problem for which they had no fix. Now, I can’t get my money back from Amazon. Thanks, Amazon, for your loyalty after all these years of mine The download was quick and the install went well. All my other versions of Pinnacle since like version 5 worked fine right out of the box. This is why I gave it a 3.
So far it’s great. This edition had been the best working one to date. I basically only was able to use it for color correction using Resolve in the past but now I can render projects with v Pretty happy and it doesn’t crash like all the other versions. Wasted over a week trying to get the video to render Awesome features Old Guy Geek. Actually cheaper than the upgrade from Pinnacle Studio 18 from Pinnacle themselves. Have been using Pinnacle Studio since version 8. Love all the features.
I use it to publish to my YouTube Channel. Will not install. Just hangs on the serial number key. Waste of money. No refund no exchange. Be wary of this trap. I guess I will go to a torrent site and download it illegally, I mean they already have my money Congratulations Pinnacle on ruining a great product so completely.
Took three hours to install and then I click on it and within seconds get “NGStudio has stopped working” and it shuts down and that is that. Sometimes I also get something about BGrender has failed.
I have deleted, reinstalled, followed the advice online about renaming a particular file, changed. NET framework, installed the patch I’ve looked in the forums and I see the same issue and no solutions, either on the forum or online. Going back to my old Pinnacle Studio 15, back when AVID did things really well and I’m going to have to look around for another video editing program.
