Since then CS4 cannot be used because of “License Expired,” I have been consulting with Adobe Techical Support to try to clean the affected files or fool the computer clock, but I still cannot reslove the issues. Try not to say much about my frustrations and keep the long story short here; recently, the CS4 production premuim is locked by “License Expired” when lauching the applications.
Unfortunlately, all my CS3 design premuim’s applications are corupted by “Licensing for this product has stopped working. The error massage of one of the applications shows “The alias “Uninstall Adobe After Effects CS4” could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found. My school term will start soon, please help me out of the pains: 1 How to fix the “alias” to unistall both CS3 and CS4 premiums or something else to unistall CS3 and CS4? Distressed Karen. Back in , I was having issues with my CS3 license going missing. Apparently something gets corrupted. Adobe sent me a little command line application: LicenseRecoveryLauncher. You might ask them about it. Thanks for the quick responses. Here are the suggested solutions I have tried: 1 Fooling computer clock — Doesnt’ work! Big Thanks Karen. I had an issue with my licensing in CS5 and it turns out it’s controlled by a Flex app. They have a licensing reset tool on their website if you search through their help and it will remove the Flex app, and reset it so you can put in your license.
Have you tried re-installing from the install disks? Sure it won’t let you register another instance with the same serial but at least if you got it running you could call Adobe and just have them deal with that one issue of resetting your Serial Number’s activation settings. Archive your user data to create more free space, and then uninstall and reinstall the products. Most of what is there can safely be deleted. This typically is most everything in your home folder. Now, how big is the hard drive? Your drive is likely 10x that size, or GB, perhaps more. You should therefore have somewhere around 15GB of free space.
You should keep above this threshold at all times for optimal performance. Your computer must be very slow with so little free space. My suggestion to archive your user files means to take your documents and art files and back them up to another location. Then delete the originals on your Mac’s hard drive to reclaim free space. Additionally, perform a quick audit of your other files that may be safe to delete, like old applications, downloads, movies or music you don’t need.
Once you take care of the free space issue, then we can move onto fixing the CS4 installation. Reinstall OS X from scratch. Install cs suite. Restore only the essential data you need from backup. Thanks Karen. Paw gave good advice. Working with a clean system state is the best way to get back to a stable setup. Sounds like you might be out of the woods now so give CS4 a shot and let us know how it goes.
